Review of Bottle Rocket (1996) by Alex G — 10 Jul 2012
Is very strong for the first hour, then for the last 40 minutes just isn't as strong. Not that it was bad. It was still good; just not as engaging as the first hour and tended to be rushed. Wasn't completely satisfied with the resolution between Anthony and Inez.
Great dialogue and the overlapping of it was a strong suit. In terms of characters, Luke Wilson as Anthony was really the only one with any depth to him. Owen Wilson as Dignan and Robert Musgrave as Bob weren't one dimensional and they had good dialogue; there was just not a whole lot to them.
This was my first Wes Anderson film, and it got me interested in wanting to see his other stuff.
