Review of Boogie Nights (1997) by Darius K — 03 Jul 2012
Very well put together and engaging, Boogie Nights is an honest and appropriately stylized portrait of the San Fernando Valley in the 1970s and 1980s. The subject, however, exhausts much of the drama that is available to the industry, and a few of the subplots are irrelevant.
Very fine acting from Philip Seymour Hoffman, Juilliane Moore, and Burt Reynolds, and expert direction from Paul Thomas Anderson.
