Review of Bone Tomahawk (2015) by Robert I — 09 Jan 2016
MMmmmm, now this is the type of indie film I like to see getting made. Superb cast, it's a western, and there's an element of horror. I can't give it a flawless score, because it is held back by its independence.
.. There is a cheapness to the film, especially the Cave of the villains... Notice how clean and well lit their cave is at the end there... That sadly stood out to me as a limitation of their budget. But seriously, this team went for it.
And while the horror wasn't nearly as graphic as I had thought it was going to be... It still came out pretty effective. Patrick Wilson and Kurt Russell really shine. Classy picture.
