Bob Dylan evolved so much in the 60's that he was constantly a contradiction of the person he was the year before. This documentary captures Dylan in his anti-hero absurdist phase right at the dawn of his electric transformation.
Unfortunately all the people around him have not caught, up, and a frustrated Dylan spends the whole movie trying to not be the hero he once claimed to be (at least musically) So at this phase in his life Dylan comes off as very very smug, and I think the performances suffer, because you can feel his disinterest in his old "protest songs".
Dylan was very enigmatic, and this documntary will not give you any insight on what Bob Dylan is actually like (Hell, his autobiography doesn't even do that) But it is very interesting nonetheless.
