Review of Blue Velvet (1986) by Michael H — 24 Dec 2011
Very dark, haunting and mysterious. All this creates such a very good classic. I describe Blue Velvet as an 80's noire, I dont think women will adapt to it as it has its disturbing moments, but for me I found it such good cinema.
A superb performance by the late Dennis Hopper, he portrays his villain perfectly in everyway, his character has no care in the world and so facinating but menacing. David Lynch took a risk and for me he delievers.
I can see the violence and the whole concept become too disturbing for some, but as for me it was just a movie and I adapted to it from start to finish.
