Review of Blue Velvet (1986) by Anna I — 23 Feb 2013
A friend mentioned this film to me in a convo about weird and quirky movies and I was surprised I hadn't seen it. I barely remember the Twin Peaks movie, but I always liked Mullholland Drive so I sorta had higher expectations for this one.
First, Dennis Hopper was great. My fav role of the film. Second, I can only think of Kyle McG. as McDougal from SATC, so I just couldn't take him seriously. Third, Laura Linney was just too annoying.
The plot was really simple, but the movie never went anywhere. The whole thing could have been like 15 minutes. Bottom line...the movie wasn't interesting or intriguing.
