Review of Blue Velvet (1986) by Dylan A — 20 Jun 2013
Unsettling and uncomfortable David Lynch's suburban noir classic tells the story of the corruption of the American dream hidden behind white picket fences. Propelled by an outstanding performance by Dennis Hopper (whose hyper violent, drug driven character Frank is the epitome of social poison) Blue Velvet is sure to leave its audience worse than when they found it, despite a debatably happy ending, but for all the right reasons.
