Review of Blue Velvet (1986) by Jacopo G — 07 May 2010
"This is a strange world, isn't it?".
David Lynch scratches the layers of reality through swing notes and blue velvet nights. The whole movie is an exploration of duality, a search for the thin line that separates day and night, sanity and madness, good and evil. The pace is calm and almost hypnotic, some scenes are surreal and the dialogues, despite being quite short most of the times, never fail to be simple and mysterious at the same time.
