Woody Allen has become so good at tragic comedy he may deserve his own genre. Although one can argue that Woody Allen is a genre. Only problem is, no one else can work in this genre but the Woodster. Blue Jasmine is far from my favorite Allen movie but it is one helleva tour de force performance by Cate Blanchett as a woman on the edge.
A woman who went from Prada to nada almost losing her mind. Teetering on the edge of sanity for 97 minutes, you almost wait for her to just looney it up and go all Martin Lawrence up in this piece. Aside from Cate's umpteenth fantastic performance, my favorite part is the amount of love he shows my city, San Francisco.
He treats it with the same respect and care as he does his own beloved New York.
