Review of Blow-Up (1966) by Rodney E — 13 Oct 2008
Captures the London Mod scene of the 60's with a swinging photographer who snaps a couple in a park and may or may not have photographed a dead body. We never know for sure and thats part of the beauty.
It is all about sense and perception. Antonioni was a master of giving minimal action that delivered huge amounts of feeling and drama. With a jazzy soundtrack and incredible cinematography Antonioni creates oneof my faves.
The scene with the Yardbirds is fantastic and very well constructed.
