Review of Blow-Up (1966) by Mick L — 26 Mar 2009
Probably the film that best captures the London of the "swinging" sixties - this excellent film directed by the great Antonioni is the story of David Hemming's photograher's discovery of a murder in a London Park - incredibly atmospheric - especially the quiet of the London park at night - but was there really a murder or was it an illusion - a metaphor for the mid sixties hype - includes footage of the Yardbirds in concert with both Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page.
Tremendous film. Also see Brian de Palma's homage "Blow Out" with John Travolta - superb! A film to watch many times.
