Review of Blow-Up (1966) by Nicolas A — 26 May 2009
Totally a 60's film. We look at this nowadays as a classic, but I have no doubt that this was super hot new-age shit back at the time of its release. This is my first foray into a Michaelangelo Antonioni film, and something tells me this is a great starting point.
I truly enjoyed all the hot chicks, the Hitchcock-turned-artfilm plot, and the dizzying perceptions or misperceptions of the lead character. The film explores the paranoia of examining too closely, and leaves on a brilliantly open-ended note.
