Review of Blood: The Last Vampire (2000) by Marc B — 29 Jun 2007
A classic of Japanese animation. The strong part is the animation department. The animation is very smooth. Not a surprise considering the anime is done by Production I.G, this same studio who did all the "Ghost in the Shell" animes. It is also quite bloody & gore considering the anime features vampires. The weak part is the story department. The movie is quite short and the studio didn't have enough times to make it longer so they sticked with the OAV format. So the story is not as developped as it should be. Anyways, it is worth watching if you just want bloody hack'n'slash action scenes.
If you liked "Blade", you will certainly like this anime. There is also an alternate version of the anime, "Blood+", if you want a more developped story and a cuter but less kickass Saya,.
