For a debut film it was really good. As a Noir, it was alright. All in all I felt the story was a bit too cliche, but hell, I can overlook that for the characters, which seems to be the Coen Bros. forte.
If you're a Coen Bros. fan, you'll no doubt love it. If you're not, you'll probably hate it. If you just like movies in general, you'll get a good ride out of it. The acting is pretty top notch.
