Review of Blood Simple (1985) by Hugh M — 14 Aug 2008
Suberbly crafted and exucuted characters. Brilliant work by it's use of simplicity. Because the movie seems quite bare, it creates great tension, and is a true thriller. Camera work is excellent, and the coen brothers show masterful direction. particulary in scene set up and creation. some very strange motives go on here; mainly the characters actions. it is not clear why they do the things they do, and the reasons for them. infact the character movements are very puzzling.
Neverthess great overall, and a great film noir, and excellent use of the dark theme.
