Review of Blood Simple (1985) by Andy K — 25 Oct 2008
Dark, violent tale about a cuckolded barkeep who hires a private eye to investigate his wife and her lover, and as the labyrinthine plot continues to twist like a corkscrew, you realize that this is the work of the Coen brothers.
What is scary and downright remarkable is howthe duo's style and talents are so clearly displayed in what was their debut film as they prove Murphy's Law several times over as well as the aphorisim that "when blood is involved, nothing is simple.
".
