Review of Blood Father (2016) by Jeff B — 15 Dec 2016
Blood father is an action movie that delivers on the action part, but doesn't do more than that. We see an ex convict living in a trailer park and trying to stay away from alcohol and out of prison.
When his daughter, who ran away from home years ago, comes back in the picture his life tilts to the bad side again. His daughter pissed of some gang members and together they run away and try to survive.
The final commendatory confrontation between the protective father and the 'evil' gang is there, the emotional daughter father bonding is there, the 'I am a mean killing machine trying to stay good routine' is also there.
But nothing throughout the entire movie really stands out, it is all rather dull. Don't get me wrong, it isn't a terrible movie, but it isn't a good one either. If you are interested in a new Mel Gibson movie to see if he can still act a little, then you should watch it, if not don't bother.
