Review of Blockers (2018) by Matthew H — 06 Apr 2018
I wish I found vomit as funny as Kay Cannon does... but other than that BLOCKERS is an absolute treat. It gets raunchy, sure, but it has such an unexpectedly good heart. I mean, there are zero losers in this movie.
And no villains. There are simply characters with faults... and they address them. They learn. They grow. They forgive. Not one of our six main characters are in the same place as when they started. They are all better off.
When's the last time a comedy dared to be positive and sensitive and proactive and still be absolutely hilarious? I'm excited to see what these young ladies do next and where Cannon's career goes from here.
