Review of Blind Fury (1989) by Kerry D — 27 Nov 2007
Endearing American action comedy take on the Zatoichi series. Loses one star instantly on the 'kids should not be in action movies' principle, and is generally a bit muddled. It's too violent to be a family movie yet not vicious enough to be a serious action film. Of course, serious is never on the cards here and the movie is essentially a comedy, and a typically idiosyncratic performance from Hauer holds it all together.
Would be brilliant if it didn't have that kid in it.
