Review of Blade (1998) by Daryl K — 30 Oct 2012
Pretty much responsible for kicking off the wave of modern comic book superhero films, which doesn't appear to be ending any time soon. Wesley Snipes is kind of perfect as the half-vampire vampire hunter, and David Goyer's script brings a fresh, science-based take to bloodsucker mythology.
Director Stephen Norrington develops a slick, urban feel with the visuals. Great action, Stephen Dorff makes a very effective villain, and Kris Kristofferson is a hoot as Blade's sidekick/mentor.
