Review of BlacKkKlansman (2018) by Sue T — 11 Aug 2018
Entertaining, well-directed movie that seemed to fairly portray both sides of the same problem with racist rhetoric and violent solutions...Until the end. I completely lost respect for the entire movie when it failed to respect our country's flag by turning it upside down.
I could overlook the couple of digs at the Trump and I was ok with the biographical portrayal of David Duke. Unfortunately I loved the humorous, unbiased, balanced historical telling of Ron's story until it turned into anti-Trump, anti-America propaganda.
As Ron was portrayed in the movie, I wouldn't think even he would support an upside down flag because it turns his mission of standing with the police to support his people upside down. To stand up for your flag and to respect it and to respect the elected office of the president doesn't make one a bigoted conservative with no regard for social justice.
