How far would you go to be perfect? Would you sacrifice your heart? Your personality? Your very soul? This is the question the filmmaker is asking his audience, and the resolution leaves it spellbound.
Our protagonist, Nina Sayers, comes to a crossroads...she has devoted her life to a technical perfection...repressing any of her own desire...but when a role comes along that requires her to have desire.
..to be "imperfect" she is at a loss. Perfection requires imperfection. The psychological journey that follows is mesmerzing, genuinely disturbing, often overly graphic, but legitimately thought provoking.
