Review of Black Sunday (1960) by Mark D — 24 Feb 2011
Good little period horror, ala Hammer stylee. Barbara Steele steals the performance as the witch(the name escapes me).Great cinematography from Bava which you come to expect.
Under valued it originally. But this has some stunning cinematography and a nice little tale adapted narrative from the short story 'Viy' by Nikolai Gogol. Influenced many a horror film after its release.
