The Rae Doole character is performed with such honesty and rawness by Christina Ricci that it practically opened me up too. When she cried I cried [I am an actor..ahem] and I absolutely totally CARED for the characters' well being right to the very end of the film.
Tremendous and mature. Like the director says on the very good commentary, Christina Ricci is a titanic actress, and this film proves it. She is bold and sophisticated, and brilliant.
