Review of Black Sheep (2010) by Michael J — 30 Jun 2010
Black Sheep combines horror and comedy - and it does it rather effectively. First, what style of horror? Think rage virus from 28 Days with werewolves thrown in the mix, except the virus affects sheep and the werewolves become "weresheep". Second, what style of horror? Entirely deadpan. If this movie was filled with zombies or rabid dogs, it would be considered "scary". Replace that element with sheep and now we have humor. Likewise, even the gore and violence is done to comic effect.
Do not go into this move expecting a typical horror film; you will be inevitably disappointed. I do, however, recommend giving this movie a chance.
