Review of Black Sabbath (1963) by Paul D — 12 Oct 2012
The first act (depending on which version you see, 'A Drop of Water') is one my favorite ghost stories committed to film. The narration linking (the American version) together is pretty atrocious and the stories get progressively weaker, but the vivid colors and imagery that Mario Bava utilizes is so effective and striking that it's hard not to be pleased by the film's visual palette.
