Review of Black Orpheus (1959) by Edwin W — 24 Jun 2007
Black Orpheus recounts the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice in the madness of Rio de Janeiro at Carnival. Saturated in colour and dance to a fitting score (by Antonio Carlos Jobim and Luis Bonfa) that guides this tale of doomed romance. Lovely.
