Review of Black Orpheus (1959) by Harpreet S — 14 Oct 2010
Beautiful adaptation of one of my favorite stories, the legend of Orpheus and Eurydice. Fantastic imagery and motifs.
I must admit, the last couple of minutes of the film were one of the best endings I've seen in a movie in a long, long while.
The movie takes place in a series of carnivals in Brazil, and the energy from Camus' purposefully long party sequences is palpable.
