Honestly, Michael Powell was a sick person. In 1946 he made this strange combination of Gothic-drama- thriller about nuns and their worldly temptations. The manner in which it was filmed was very eerie and sort of twisted.
I can only imagine devoted catholics's reactions to this film at the time. Crazy!
