Review of Black Hawk Down (2001) by Cj Z — 18 Jul 2011
I really liked the action and cinematography, but everything kinda fell flat. Fortunately, those two are pretty vital to the movie, so Black Hawk Down turns out to be a good take on the war genre, even if it doesn't stand a chance next to The Hurt Locker and Letters From Iwo Jima (I still have to watch Saving Private Ryan).
I have to admit, I had a hard time recognizing the character's faces besides the protagonist and whoever Eric Bana was, and you can probably tell from that their names aren't solid in my mind either.
Plus, character development is pretty thin, but the plot's easy enough to understand.
