Review of Black Death (2010) by Christopher M — 12 Jun 2011
Black Death is a gritty often very gorey depiction of the times of the first outbreak of bubonic plague. It shows you the dark side of belief and how people tried to understand why this plague was occuring.
I find that by the end of the movie you are left with a feeling that no good comes from trying to explain such travesties. Sean Bean is one of my favorite actors and he portrays an interesting character but despite the trailers and posters, Sean Bean is not the main character.
The protagonit is a monk played by Eddie Redmayne, who was also in the miniseries Pillars of the Earth, both film and show I have been impressed with this actor and again he plays an intense role in this film that is well done.
Overall its a movie to check out if you have the time. It is available to watch instantly on Netflix.
