Review of Bitter Moon (1992) by Minna S — 06 Dec 2009
Good old Hughie actually has done something else than just romantic comedies. Here he skillfully looks puzzled most of the time.
The movie otherwise is over 2 hours and I, as usual, complain about it. I would bet that it is not just because I've been up for the whole night that I just blankly stared at the screen and couldn't care less what happened to the characters. Mimi was quite annoying and Emmanuelle Seigner certainly was not chosen because of her acting skills.
This one is also inspired by a book. I hear Polanski is now doing a movie of a book I read just last Summer. Does he actually do movies that are NOT based on books? The Pianist is, this one is, Rosemary's Baby is, the upcoming is...
