Review of Billy Liar (1963) by Carnelia G — 20 Jun 2007
So hilarious. Tom Courtenay and Julie Christie are both so brilliant. Underlying all the wit and humor is a moral dilemma built in so beautifully with the clash of generations (grandparent-parent-child) in the '60's.
While Schlesinger plays with the fantastic and outlandish, the film is grounded in realism.
