Review of Billy Liar (1963) by Philip T — 23 Jan 2008
I was born fifty years too late and in the wrong country. The kitchen sink dramas of England are fantastic; filled with wonderful actors and based on some of the greatest works of drama and literature from that time.
I found myself relating more and more to "Billy Liar" as each part of the story unfolded. And the ending is a killer, quite possibly the saddest ending ever, hitting me in such a personal way.
And Julie Christie is really good looking.
