Review of Billy Liar (1963) by Bill M — 18 Sep 2008
A well-constructed British New Wave film that apparently stole its central idea from the short story "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty." Billy problematically gets his fantasies mixed up with reality.
This movie's worth checking out for the fact that it's Julie Christie's first screen appearance, apart from the fact that it's actually fun and slightly profound.
