Review of Billy Jack (1971) by Allan C — 22 Sep 2018
A much more important film than it may seem, highly sensitive and timed with a movement in a generation which was topsy-turvy with war and peace, sex and media. Billy Jack is unique for succeeding in a genre which is exploitative and dangerously close to glorification of some crimes but it manages to make social statements, capture some energy and power from this rare moment in American history.
Strong performances from strong but silent type Laughlin and memorable themes. Definitely a classic and a winner but might not please everybody who is not a fan of all kinds of movies.
