Review of Big Fish (2003) by Kristal G — 08 Feb 2015
Approaching this film in class I didn't know what to expect. I figured that from the title it would be something about a Big Fish but I had no clue what a Big Fish could symbolize. After watching the film I realized it meant the creator of the stories from the father. In this film, a son and his father get into an argument over the fathers stories. After a couple of years the son realizes that his father is sick and he goes and visits to see his father and so comes all the story telling. Not wanting to ruin the movie for anyone so I wont go so much into detail. But in conclusion the son realizes that his father is a man with many stories that made people happy and made people talk about,.
Big fish is a remarkably good movie that had character and meaning that brings in the viewer to realize stories are something that is to be passed down from generation to generation as shown in the movie in the ending. Even if the are just tales this movie shows how ones memories are kept alive. A tale so heart warming so touching and so funny is a to be added on the must watch list to watch with family and friends.
