Review of Big Fish (2003) by Rodney W — 18 Oct 2017
The art direction and the film in general was good and well directed. Tim Burton managed to create a flashback and make it seem like another universe as it is so different to the cinematography of the parts that aren't a flash back; one was dark and the flashbacks were bright and colourful.
The acting wasn't the best and the plot was hard to follow at the beginning, but the purpose of the film becomes more evident towards the end. It was interesting to watch but long and slightly repetitive in some places.
As it was directed by Tim Burton, the film was generally a bit random and the characters were made to seem a bit creepy. I would recommend this film more for the cinematography than the plot.
