Adam Sandler's drama comedy makes too much of the family values as usual, which diminishes some of the comedy here, but he is surprisingly touching for once, following his terible performances in the hit movie Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore. And the Sprouse twins Cole and Dylan (who now have their own TV show on Disney Channel and their own fashion range with The Olsen Twins) are utterly adorable, and great actors for kids their age.

But Big Daddy wasn't hugely funny, and was somewhat depressing, especially at the end when Sandler makes fun of his ex-girlfriend who has sunk as low as working in Hooters, which is not only an unpleasant scene, but he says it as he is walking in there with a whole bunch a family and friends, including the young boy.

The girl is reduced to tears, at which the crowd finds hilarious as she runs off. This unimaginably mean bit of film made the whole worse.

But granted, it was occasionally funny, but not nearly enough to get an above average score.
