Review of Bicentennial Man (1999) by Don D — 24 Oct 2016
I find the reviews of this film unfair. It is a very touching & heartwarming tale. Yes, the script isnt fantastic in parts, but I find it gets better once he becomes "human" & it truly shows the humanity of the film.
It is directed well and done in an almost believable way. Theres no endless rely on CGI or computer effects. It is simply about one man/robots journey to become accepted and find truth in his life. The soundtrack is one of the most beautiful of all time in my opinion.
I love it but it isnt 'the best film ever' but is moving & heartwarming. Yes the comedy is a little forced and some of the characters leave little to be desired but overall it is worth a watch, with a box of tissues on hand.
