Review of Beyond the Black Rainbow (2010) by Maxine C — 04 Sep 2014
NyQuil couldn't put me to sleep half as fast as this fart-house snooze fest. The sparse dialogue in this film is a blessing considering how the acting is so piss-poor, it seems almost intentional like a Tim&Eric sketch without any humor whatsoever.
I feel sorry Michael Rogers, who you my recognize from absolutely nothing. I'm pretty sure he has Aspergers, judging by his inability to convey emotional or social implication or conviction in even a single line of dialogue.
Sure, the score is alright, but not good enough to salvage an entire train wreck of a film. You can tell the film aims for Kenneth Anger by way of Stanley Kubrick and falls so far short that it hardly accomplishes windows 97 screensaver.
This is not a film. It is a music video at best.
