Review of Beyond the Black Rainbow (2010) by Jayakrishnan R — 24 Mar 2016
Here's my synopsis. Girl in weird facility, scary narcissistic Dr. is totally into girl. Has weird ugly wife at home. Girl can't talk is possibly telepathic. Crazy triangle thing pulses in the depths of the facility, does something or maybe nothing.
Uncaring nurse lady does stuff but gets killed, possibly telepathically, possibly by the girl. Very blurry flashback: Long time ago Dr guy jumped into some liquid transportation goo and saw the universe.
Came back and ate the other Dr's wife. Other Dr. and eaten lady had a baby, their baby is girl from earlier. Return to present. Dr goes to visit other Dr, he's really old now and possibly trapped in some crazy perpetual high.
Kinda seems like he dies. Dr man starts losing his grip on shit, takes off some of his face and puts on a weird suit, now looks and dresses like a bat cat hellraiser cenobite and kills ugly wife. Meanwhile mute girl starts walking around and encounters strange scary creatures also in the facility.
Finds a garden and then walks out of a vent and thinks mud on her feet is funny. Scary Dr goes looking for her while she's loving having wind in her hair, presumably she's never been outside the facility.
Cut to gross over done 80's metal guys listening to loud metal and drinking and smoking. Scary Dr randomly kills one of them while peeing and then yells at the other dude for fucking the girl even though we totally didn't see any of that.
Kills him by stabbing him in the face and there is an impressive blood spray. Weird girl wakes up from sleeping on ground, scary Dr was watching her. He very abruptly smokes his head on a rock and dies, maybe she killed him with her mind, possibly he just slipped? She wanders into a town, the authorities are going to have fun with this one.
Fantastic synth soundtrack and amazing visuals.
