Review of Best Worst Movie (2009) by Jeff B — 23 May 2010
Along with Troll 2, I saw this at the theater with a sold out audience. This documentary, directed by Michael Stephenson, (the little kid from Toll 2), is about the making of Troll 2 and how it has become the worst film and the big cult film it's turned out to be. This movie is perfect, so hilarious and actually very interesting. The main focus is George Hardy, the father in the film (You can't piss on hospitality!) who is now a dentist and probably the nicest guy ever. There is so many hilarious moments in this, my two favorite parts are probably when the director of Troll 2 is on screen, he still believes he made a good film and seems to get pissed at the fans and the cast whenever they mention how awful it is. The other great moment involves the storekeepr in the film, who is literally crazy, and says when he was doing a scene with Michael, he hated Michael so much that he wanted to kill him. Of course, little did the guy know that Michael was the one interviewing him.
Anywya, I had a blast at the screening, Michael and George were there, as well as Jason Steadman (on of the friends with the yellow shirt and the extremely short shorts). They're a fun group, it's great to see them take in all the glory of starring in the worst movie of all time.
