Review of Best of the Best (1989) by Ed P — 30 Aug 2007
Excellent movie. USA vs South Korea. Taekwondo at its best. Although there were many other hard styles involved this was pure Taekwondo. James Earl Jones did a great job in this movie as well. This movie also teaches respect for your fellow fighters or man, To not fight unless you have too.
To alwasy keep your guard up. When to kill or not to kill. Respect of family and others, Trainning, etc. This movie has it all To stand up to someone and when it is okay to loose. The Ending was the best part.
He was going to kill the other person but the Coach saids no after hearing that "He's going to kill him!" And he stood there as te other fighter was pactually dead and done nothing was the best part.
This taugh that winning is not oimportant and killing someone will make you as worse as they are. Mark this under E for Martial Art Education. This should be required viewing for all who wnat to train in martial arts.
Expecially in the Octagon. At the end even though there is a ref involved to enforce the rules and the UFC guidlines which is one of the best out there; it all comes down to the two fighters. It's not easy to fight in the UFC or any other tournment or circuit.
There is a lot of trainning and disipline involved.
