Review of Berberian Sound Studio (2012) by Zack F — 04 May 2014
A noisy movie about noise. The sound of this movie is the setting as much as the studio and it is the plot as much as the anxiety and confusion of Tobey Jones' out of place sound mixer. All this sound and off-putting atmosphere creates a wonderfully creepy tone, but the film is never able to capitalize from it.
The build is far too long with an unfulfilling hallucinogenic climax.
