Review of Beneath Hill 60 (2010) by Lenny R — 23 Mar 2011
This is the best war movie, or for that matter Australian war movie I have seen. The beginning is a bit slow to get into, but the rest is interesting and entertaining. The whole film wouldn't have been great without the great actors in this film, Brendan Cowell is brilliant in this film as for the rest of the cast Steve Le Marquand, Gyton Grantley, Leon For, Shawn Alex Thompson are great in this one.
But newcomer Harrison Gilbertson is the one I guess we feel for and root for the most in this film. The score in this tender for a war film which best describes the emotion of the times in the war. There are funny moments and there are moments that will make you cry, especially the last scene.
The film is really a great Aussie war film.
