Review of Ben-Hur (2016) by Leigh O — 18 Aug 2016
Charleton Heston and Stephen Boyd's legacy can rest easy. There is nothing in this remake that can compare to the 1959 classic. There will be no Oscars. There will be no acclaim. The best thing about the film was Morgan Freeman's dreadlocks.
I didn't hate it but I didn't love it. It's just a lost opportunity for all involved to have made a fun remake.
