Ben-Hur left me speechless for a good while as the titular, fictional character's life is intertwined to that of Jesus's very well. While most critics may consider this modern adaptation to be a failure, Ben-Hur managed to not only be a violent and brutal spectacle, but also a story of compassion and mercy.
