Review of Ben-Hur (1959) by Jon L — 29 May 2009

To sum this film up in one word, it would be "Epic". I was blown away with how good this film was shot, as well as how it was written. The original story is ingenious and puts a different perspective on the bible, which very few if any have had the courage to do. This movie takes that story and builds a great film out of it. I did not know that this was the 3rd rendition of the Ben-Hur story, but I would now love to take a look at the others.

Watching this is a sobering reminder of what Christ did for us and how he can, and does use anyone for his purpose, regardless of how useful they might feel they are. We are an integral part of his plan for our lives, weather we want to believe it or not. Everyone should see this film.
