Review of Ben-Hur (1959) by Jonathan C — 09 Sep 2017
Ben-Hur (1959) contains so much more than what most classic films have to offer. If we were to examine very closely about how a film interprets human life, we may come to learn our own problems. The sea-battle, chariot race, and the hidden artistic portrayal of Jesus are masterfully formed by it's Director; William Wyler. Judah Ben-Hur (Charlton Heston) and Messala (Stephen Boyd) embody friendship that turns into political confliction; showing us that life has a price when it comes to a point of view. The greatness of this film exist, not only in its' spectacle, but within the stories' human characters. Like many epics, this one is special. Definitely a favorite!
Score: A+ GREAT!!!
